The Real Boston George From Blow Released From Prison [VIDEO]
If you are a fan of Johnny Depp‘s portrayal of “Boston” George in Blow then get ready to rejoice. The real life Goerge Jung was recently released after serving almost two decades in prison.
Originally brought to the attention of the American public through Bruce Porter’s 1993 book Blow: How a Small Town Boy Made $100 Million with the Medellín Cocaine Cartel and Lost It All, it is alleged Jung was responsible for 80% of the nation’s cocaine intake throughout the 1960′s and 1970′s.
Held in a low level security correctional facility, Jung was originally scheduled for release in November but was given an early exit for good behavior. He will now be held in a transitional facility on the west coast.
As the 2001 biopic accurately depicted, his relationship with his child was severely strained by his career in crime. Now his hopes are to restore the paternal bond with his estranged daughter Katrina. His representatives state that they have indeed spoken previous to his release and have made plans to meet in the very near future.
TMZ happened to be on site when he landed in a San Francisco airport where he let us know his key to life. “You know life is a rodeo and the only thing you have to do is stay in the saddle and I’m back in the saddle now” he shared. While Jung has given the life up, you can still cop from him on his online store.
